ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a Russian-born New York artist, writer and photographer based in the heart of Manhattan. My interests range dramatically (in every sense of the word) and include: classical music and literature, folk dances and ballet, travel and animal rescue. At the present time I am also working on my college degree in Art History, and Archaeology of the Bronze Age Aegean.
I find my creative inspiration in the beauty of Nature with all her ever-changing moods of rain showers, snow storms and bright sunny skies, in her scarlet garments of dawn or the royal blue mantles adorned with sparkling rhinestones of stars. She is always different and always fascinating, she is the perfect muse.
Another important source of inspiration for me is the philosophical complexity and symbolism of the art of the Renaissance, the psychological depth of the Old Masters and the emotional vibrancy of the Impressionists. To name a few: Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt van Rijn, Francisco de Goya, Vincent van Gogh. The primary objective in my work with people, no matter the medium (photography or oil), is to capture the unique personality, character and inner world of each person.
